Q&A With 40 Glocc
by Zack "The Wanderer" Lippa
TMO: The big Four – Oh, whats up man how are you today? I know you just got done with that video shoot with Ray-J, how did that go?
40 Glocc: Chilling man what it zoo? The shoot went well, check out the pics

TMO: First off I want to say thank you very much for this opportunity, I truly appreciate it. Second that video shoot looks nuts! As you know I was a little early on sending this over, so we can definitely talk about more, and soon man! Well anyways I just want to say, I’ve been a fan since the first time I heard your music. It was in like 2005 on your Myspace page. With that said I know you did not start rappin in 2006 and you have been at this music thing quite awhile. Can you tell us when and how you started rapping?
40 Glocc:Started rapping as a kid started running around and hanging with my peers, like the Snopp Dogg’s, 2 Pac’s of our time ect. I used it as a way to get out the hood and make a living.
TMO: A long ways between then and now. So I have a question I have to ask before we get into this thing if you don’t mind. The beat that is used on 50 Cent’s Rider Part II, I first heard on your Myspace page. I was like hey I know this beat, when I heard it on the radio. Tell me about that a little bit if you don’t mind. Who made that beat and how did it end up being somewhat of a hit? I mean Rider Part II got some radio play, but long after I first heard that beat.
40 Glocc: I originally was using it with 50 on a remix song for my mix tape. Then 50 had decided he wanted to use it for his g-unit album so I gave it to him. I’m a team player so I rolled with his request. Rick Rock made the beat, and we knew it was a hit when I had it, 50 just made it a worldwide hit!
TMO: Sorry if that seems like a dumb question, but I remember bumping that song wondering that exact question. So moving forward (or backwards) I understand in 2007 you dropped two mixtapes : “Outspoken 3” and “That New Nigga”, is that accurate? Also, are these still available for download and if so where?
40 Glocc:Yes 100% accurate I dropped both those mix tapes! I also dropped “I am Legend” earlier this year.I’m also about to drop my new mix tape “Concrete Jungle” before my album drops.Yes there all available for download on ITunes, on my MySpace page & at: www.40glocc.com
TMO: Was “Graveyard Shift” released? Also, I was not sure about “I Am Legend”. Was that one released in 2008 or 2009?
40 Glocc: Graveyard shift was not released that will be released under my new label Zoo Life with Fontana/Universal distribution. ‘I am Legend ‘ dropped in the beginning of this year you can download it for free at www.40glocc.com
TMO: So also in 2008 I also remember hearing you were being singled out by the “local authorities” when an injunction was filed to stop you and fellow gang members from referencing your gang affiliations. Did this actually help page views, downloads and sales?
40 Glocc: The injunction is still going on I’m still fighting it. I would say that’s what inspired my N.W.A album. It depicts things that’s going on in my life. I think it’s helped my page views and downloads because the people like to know what’s going on in the real world, the life of a true gangsta lol.
TMO: That is crazy man. I know you are the real thing with no BS media hype. When I first moved to Cali one of the first friends I made knew exactly who you were when we were discussing west coast music. With that said, you must be proud to have come this far in general. Can you discuss how you first got affiliated with G-Unit?
40 Glocc: I first got affiliated with G-unit through Mobb Deep. I was with them when 50 took us all in together. Ill roll with em til the wheels fall off and ya it feels good because I achieved and made it now on my own I’ve always been indie I just do what majors do, myself.
TMO: I'm a big fan of Mobb Deep that's for sure and that's one heck of a team to roll with. Now this is something I ask all musicians in general that come from digital-friendly labels. What do you honestly feel about digital media? Has digital media made it so there are too many rappers now, or is that good for the industry in your opinion?
40 Glocc: I feel its kinda super saturated with artist that aren’t really doing shit. Basically its to where anyone can get on and sell they shit! It’s taking away from the real artist trying to do they thing. But overall I think its good because as a real artist I am to get my music directly to my fans!
TMO: Ok so the main reason why I am bothering you and taking time from your day is because I really want to talk about this new joint for a minute. You are releasing a new album soon called “N.W.A. New World Agenda, which is on your label Zoolife/Fontana Universal if I am not mistaken. Tell me about this project. When does it release, and who did you work with on this one?
40 Glocc: Ya man get this distribution deal with Fontana and dropping my new album N.W.A under my own label Zoo Life Ent. I basically kept it all in the fam and worked with Alchemist, havoc of Mobb Deep team players like black tobin, village boo, sun, gali gotti & zoo babies. I kept it real personal.

TMO: Well you already know we will keep the links posted up on TheMonthlyOnline.com and our social networks. Where can we buy this release and will it be a digital download?
40 Glocc: Release date to be announced coming soon this year for sure and yes it’ll be on digital downloads and will be in all stores across the states.
TMO: So I know people like 40 Glocc always have their next move. Tell me what is after “New World Agenda” ? Whatr can fans expect from 40 Glocc?
40 Glocc: You can expect the gang to come out hard! I’ll be releasing Grave Yard Shift next then an album by one of my Zoo Life artists!
TMO: Like I said I am a big fan and anything you ever want posted up on TheMonthlyOnline.com you just let me know personally and I will make it happen, and fast! So let me ask could we link up for another interview on audio or film in the future?
40 Glocc: Yes of course lets keep going….
TMO: I am polling all of my guests. What type of female would you prefer to interview you on camera? Big Booty? Big Ittys? Brunette? Blonde? Latina? Tell me! I will make it happen if you allow another interview fam!
40 Glocc: I like all women I don’t discriminate!! Love the ittys and a nice booty to match is good you pick a good one and send her to me lol lets make it happen…
TMO: Same here, and I like the girl in this video so I added it lol. Anyway! This is almost over, I promise! The last section is just a fill in the blank.
40 Glocc: I think President Obama will… DO THE SAME SHIT THE OTHER WHITE PUPPETS DID
40 Glocc: My honest opinion about the police is FUCK THE POLICE
TMO: Ok 40 I appreciate all of your time. We have to link up again. Let me know about everything on the new album and future drops as well. I want to cordially thank you on behalf of TheMonthlyOnline.com
